CONVOCATORIA
If you wish to participate in the project Microtheater Miami by The Cultural Center of Spain, send us your plays inspired on the following theme:
Micro Musicals
Send the texts with music and lyrics to Mayte de la Torre: [email protected]
Those interested should send their texts in English or Spanish. The work should last a maximum of fifteen minutes. You’ll need to submit examples of music and lyrics of the songs.
The works will be subject to an evaluation for selection by our literary committee.
The shows will perform at Microtheater Miami in September 2024. We will announce the exact place and dates during the second half of August.
The playwright has absolute freedom of approach and vision. We are looking for plays that are exclusively original musicals.
Texts should be sent in Word or PDF format. The subject for the e-mail must be: «Microteatrher: Micromusicals + name of the author».
The first page of the attached document should have:
- The title of the play
- Name of the author
- Phone and e-mail of the playwright
- Indicate if the play has a director and/ or actors chosen
The author must have the absolute rights of intellectual property, either in its original version or adaptation. This is important for the text to be considered.

DEADLINE: AUGUST 10, 2024
The texts that are submitted after the deadline of August 10th, and texts that are not sent to the e-mail specified will not be considered for selection.
Themes for 2024:
- Las mil y una noches
- Micro Romance (comedias románticas)
- Cosas que pasan - Historias basadas en hechos reales
- MicroMitología (Obras basadas en la mitología o en personajes mitológicos).
- Micromusicales (solo se admitirán musicales originales).
- Yo soy así (LGBTIQ+ Pride).
- Un paseo por Marte. Expedición al futuro.
- ¿Verdad o mentira? (sobre fake news).
- Se habla español (sobre herencia hispana).
- Native American Tales (cuentacuentos).
- La magia en un contenedor (Temática libre pero enfocada en crear un espacio mágico a través de la escenografía y la iluminación)
